Excellent condition featuring double cutaway “avant-garde” Maverick alder body with gloss nitrocellulose lacquer Ultraburst finish, multi-ply black, white and tortoiseshell grain pickguard, two Tim Shaw designed Filter'Tron humbucking pickups, one volume control and one tone control with aged white witch hat knobs mounted to elongated metal control plate, three way pickup selector switch with white plastic tip, Bigsby B-50 tailpiece, Adjust-o-matic bridge with six individual intonatable steel saddles and two height adjusting thumb wheels, bolt on maple neck, bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays starting the first fret, bone nut, “hockey stick” peghead with sunburst finish on the front of the peghead, Fender block logo and Maverick Dorado logos, elongated string tree, three per side chrome sealed Fender stamped tuning machines with white plastic buttons, four bolt neck fastening plate with serial number and Fender Parallel Universe engravings, two metal strap buttons and original Fender branded Sea Foam Green hard shell case with black plush interior and all paperwork.
This 2020 Fender Maverick Dorado is in excellent cosmetic condition showing virtually no signs of play wear throughout. The protective plastic film is still on the pickguard. The neck profile on this guitar is that of a very nice comfortable C shape with just enough chunkiness and feels very good in hand. The frets on this Maverick show no signs of use and have a lifetime of playing left in them. This guitar plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard. The Tim Shaw designed Filter'Tron humbucking pickups really shine in this instrument and provide an amazing amount of clarity and spank as you would expect from a Fender guitar but also retain the rounder and more “metallic” humbucking sound that steers this instrument into that rockabilly and surf direction. These pickups sound superb to my ears and have a ton of character that can be shaped into many creative sounds for today’s guitar player. The Bigsby B-50 tailpiece works smoothly and has a great amount of “travel” making this unit very pleasant to operate, furthering the fun, inspiration and usefulness of this guitar. This Fender Maverick Dorado has a very lovely nitro finish that was superbly done. The three tone sunburst (or Ultraburst as they call it) is extremely attractive, vibrant and has a really apparent vintage vibe. This guitar is proudly built in the USA. It is housed in its original and super cool Fender badged Sea Foam Green hard shell case and includes all of its original paperwork.
