Excellent condition featuring non-reverse contoured solid mahogany body, multi-ply white and black pickguard with red Firebird logo, two mini-humbucking Firebird pickups with non-adjustable poles, three position toggle switch with white tip, two volume controls and two tone controls with black reflector top knobs, Gibson engraved maestro lyre vibrola tailpiece with trem bar with elongated keystone green plastic tip, ABR style no-wire fully adjustable tune-o-matic bridge, one piece mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays starting at the third fret, 1 11/16" nut width, bone nut, Gibson non-reverse Firebird peghead, elongated single ply black plastic truss rod cover with gold Gibson logo, six in a line chrome Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuning machines with small kidney bean buttons, black printed serial number and Gibson Custom Shop logo decal on the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics control cavity plate, three metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware, Gold Mist finish with matching peghead, and original hard shell case and COA.
This 2010 non-reverse Firebird is in immaculate condition and shows no noticeable signs of play wear. The neck profile on this instrument is very beefy as compared to vintage Firebirds but is extremely comfortable and feels similar in size to an R9 but with a slightly different shape. We believe this neck shape and nut size are much more playable than the original mid 60s non-reverse Firebirds (but we love those, too!). The bridge pickup in this guitar is very angry and the neck pickup in this guitar is very warm, round, and full sounding. The Gold Mist finish is stunning paired with the Gibson lyre engraved vibrola tailpiece. This guitar includes its original hard shell case which is also very tidy and the original Certificate of Authenticity from the Gibson Custom Shop.
This Firebird stands out amongst the rest in the looks department and also tonally. The majority of the Custom Shop non-reverse Firebirds that we've seen have been the three pickup model and we've seen far less of the two pickup version around. This is an all around incredibly cool 'bird.
