This 2001 Fender Special Edition Stratocaster is in very good cosmetic condition showing only slight signs of play wear throughout the body and one discolored spot on the pickguard from someone resting their pinky (see photos). The neck has a smaller C shaped profile that feels great and well broken-in in hand. The medium jumbo fret wire shows some signs of play wear but the frets have loads of life left. The polyurethane finish has been removed from the fingerboard and the fingerboard has been oiled which really gives this guitar a very lived in awesome feeling. There is a cigarette burn on the headstock beside the low E tuner. The pickups are the Van Zandt Vintage Plus set. The pots and switch are also from Van Zandt and there is an Emerson capacitor installed. These electronics are a major upgrade to this Strat and sound fantastic. These pickups are extremely well balanced and really deliver a superior bell like tone that rival some vintage Strats that I have owned. The Butterscotch Blonde finish is extremely cool and attractive and the anodized aluminum black pickguard really sets it off.
This Stratocaster was well loved by its previous owner for very good reason - It’s a killer American made tone machine. If you're looking for a superb lightweight American made Fender Stratocaster with a killer tone that is ready for 1000 more gigs, this one should be at the top of your list.
