1984 Yamaha SBG3000 Metallic Black

Excellent condition featuring pointed double cutaway contoured mahogany body, maple top with multiple top bindings and abalone inlaid edges, two humbucking pickups with black pickup covers and brass pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with brass pointers and original reflector top gold knobs, engraved stop tailpiece and adjustable tune-o-matic style bridge, elevated brass pickguard with angled metal mounting bracket, three-way pickup selector switch with white tip, maple neck, multiple bound ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl and abalone arrow inlays starting at the first fret, bone nut, Yamaha peghead shape, black peghead face with multiple black and white bindings, pearl Yamaha logo and decorative pearl floral inlays, multi-ply truss rod cover with SBG 3000 engraving, three per side Yamaha Japan stamped tuning machines with large kidney bean buttons, serial number and Made in Japan impressed into the back of the peghead, two metal strap buttons, single ply black plastic electronics control cavity cover plate, metallic black finish and switch plate and original brown Yamaha hard case.

This 1984 Yamaha SBG3000 is in excellent cosmetic condition and shows only the slightest signs of play wear throughout. The neck is slim and fast and feels extremely comfortable in hand. The original jumbo frets show hardly any signs of use and are in tremendous shape with tons of life left in them. The original humbucking pickups are strong and sound fabulous. This guitar can reach Les Paul territory with ease and sounds great clean or dirty. The electronics are all original and haven’t been tampered with in any way. This Yamaha is all original with the exception of the strap buttons.

The SBG3000 was top of the line for Yamaha at the time this guitar was made and, in my opinion, these are easily the best electric guitars Yamaha ever produced. These are very collectable and are only going up in value. This example is by the far nicest I’ve encountered. If you're looking for a phenomenal playing and sounding guitar with a great vibe and top notch craftsmanship and appointments, this one is hard to beat. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
