This 1980 Yamaha SHB400 was made in Japan and in overall very good vintage cosmetic condition. There are signs of play wear throughout including scratches, dings and a worn spot in between the pickups on the top (see photos). The neck profile on this instrument is that of a medium C shape and feels very good and comfortable in hand. The original medium jumbo frets on this guitar show some signs of play wear but have a ton of life left in them. This Yamaha plays very well up and down the fingerboard with low action. The original Yamaha double white exposed coil humbucking pickups sound great in this guitar especially with a cranked amp! The electronics are all original and have not been tampered with in any way. The tone control knob is a push/pull that activates a coil tap for either pickup and is extremely useful and sounds pretty great for single coil tones. Yamaha electric instruments from this era are extremely well constructed and, in my opinion, have super cool and interesting shapes and features. This model seems to be pretty scarce. If you're after a killer playing 41 year old electric guitar that is as unique as it is cool, this SHB-400 delivers the goods. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
