This 1972 Fender Precision Bass is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument with an insane amount of vibe that can only come from years of bar gigs and broken hearts. This bass has been extensively modified by its previous owner to suit his needs. The bridge pickups are early 1970s Bartolini Hi-A Precision Bass pickups that sound gigantic. A DiMarzio humbucking neck pickup has been added. The body has been routed underneath and the guard has been modified to accommodate it. Two extra controls have been added to accommodate and control the "upgraded" pickup. This bass has been fitted with brass nut that is cut very well. And, of course, a Leo Quan Badass bridge has been added. These modifications have turned this bass into an absolute beast and it sounds massive plugged in. The frets have been dressed and are a bit low but the bass plays incredibly and comfortably up and down the fingerboard. There are dings, scratches and play wear here and there including forearm wear on the front and belt buckle wear through the finish on the back. The bridge cover is missing and the original holes remain. This instrument is housed in its original hard shell case that has also seen years of use and been drug around to countless gigs. This bass has an extremely lived in feel and is ready to be played for another 49 years. If you're looking for a bass that will lay down the low end and help you lay pipe at your next bar and grill gig, this instrument is for you.
