1969 Gibson EB-3L Cherry

Very good condition featuring asymmetrical double cutaway contoured mahogany body, one mini-humbucking bridge pickup and one humbucker (mudbucker) in the neck position with black plastic pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with black plastic witch hat knobs, four way rotary switch with black plastic chickenhead knob and black aluminum selector ring, small multi-ply black and white plastic beveled edge pickguard, curved steel EB bridge with four nylon saddles and bridge cover (the bridge mute is uninstalled but is included), output jack mounted to the treble side of the body, set long scale mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, slotted peghead with pearloid Gibson logo, two per side Gibson tuning machines (one is a Schaller replacement), serial number impressed into the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics control cavity cover plate, two metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware, cherry red stain finish and black padded gig bag. This bass weighs 8lb 2oz.

This 1969 Gibson EB-3L bass is in very good vintage cosmetic condition showing multiple dings around the edges of the body, finish checking throughout and some belt buckle wear on the back. One tuning machine has been replaced with a Schaller unit but no modifications were made for the installation. This bass has no breaks, repairs or finish issues and is very solid and original throughout. All the electronics are original and appear to be untouched. This EB-3L has a small nut width with a nice rounded neck shape and it is very comfortable and easy to play. The original frets are in very good shape (see photos) and this bass plays very good up and down the fingerboard. Both pickups are fully operational and sound fantastic. This bass will deliver anything from quirky and trebly sounds to thunderous vintage low end. The long scale neck is also excellent for playability and the ability to use lower tunings without issue. If you are looking for a seriously cool and excellent sounding vintage Gibson bass, then this mahogany beast may be the one. A gem of a bass shipped safely and promptly from our little shop in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
