1966 Burns Baldwin Baby Bison

Good condition featuring asymmetrical double sharp cutaway solid body with red finish faded to orange, two Burns single coil pickups with chrome pickup surrounds, one volume and two tone controls with chrome and black skirted knobs (one knob is missing), three position pickup selector with knurled metal tip mounted to multi-ply black and white electronics panel cover, clear Plexiglas pickguard, two decorative multi-ply black plastic panels on the horns (the treble side is engraved Baldwin), James Burns designed Rezo-tube tremolo system with original trem arm, maple neck, bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with small pearl dot inlays starting at the third fret, maple scroll peghead with clear decorative scroll tabs on the sides and clear badge with black Baby Bison logo, one original tuning machine and five replacement mismatched tuners, multi-ply black and white neck fastening plate with serial number, Made in England, and patent numbers, multi-ply black and white tremolo cavity cover plate, and two metal strap buttons.

This 1966 Baldwin Baby Bison is set up in good playing order. The Burns Rezo-tube tremolo system is in perfect working order as are the electronics. The two Burns single coil pickups sound fantastic with a very clean and punchy tone. The once red finish has faded to cool shades of orange and shows moderate to heavy lacquer checking. The neck binding has been repaired at the butt end of the neck (see photos). The tuning machines are mismatched but work well. The decorative plastic tremolo surround is missing. If you're looking for a cool funky guitar with personality to spare, look no further. This is a very unique looking British guitar that's also highly playable.
