1962 Gibson Les Paul Standard SG

Excellent condition featuring asymmetrical double cutaway mahogany body, two PAF humbucking pickups with black pickup surrounds, two volume controls and two tone controls with black reflector top knobs, three-way pickup selector switch with white tip and thin black Rhythm and Treble selector ring, side pull vibrola, non-wired ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles, multi-ply small black pickguard, mahogany neck, bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, enlarged Gibson open book peghead, black peghead face with Gibson logo and crown shaped pearl inlays, multi-ply black and white bell shaped truss rod cover with Les Paul engraving, three per side Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines with double ring keystone buttons, serial number 54136 impressed into the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics control plate, two metal strap buttons, cherry red stain finish, and original black pebbled Tolex covered hard shell case with yellow plush interior.

This 1962 Gibson Les Paul SG is in outstanding condition and set up in optimal playing order. The original frets have been professionally dressed and this guitar plays like a dream up and down the fingerboard. This instrument was made early to mid-1962 and features two PAF humbucking pickups that sound phenomenal. Both pickups have the original covers and retain their original windings. The electronics remain intact and show no signs of funny business or solder touch up. The original side pull vibrola is working perfectly although it shows some signs of age and some of the nickel plating is worn (see photos). The original pickguard is completely intact with no chipping or cracked corners. The original ABR-1 bridge is straight and does not show any signs of sag and the bridge posts are completely straight/not leaning.

This instrument shows very few signs of play wear and has been extremely well cared for. It plays and sounds just as good as it looks. These guitars do not come around very often in this condition. If you're looking for a serious vintage Gibson solid body guitar that will only continue to go up in value, this is a very good candidate. These guitars are extremely susceptible to broken pegheads, cracked heels and robbed electronics, but this one has none of those stories to tell and is ready to make another lifetime worth of memories with its new owner.
