This 2005 Gretsch Pro Jet G5238 is in excellent cosmetic condition showing very minimal play wear throughout (see photos). The neck profile is a very comfortable C shape that tapers larger a bit towards the 12th fret and has a 1 11/16” nut width. The frets are in excellent condition showing very minimal signs of use and have a lifetime of playing left in them. This Gretsch has been set up and plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low action and great intonation. The Gretsch mini-humbucking pickups sound good and are very well balanced together. The bridge pickup delivers a bright biting tone that is perfect for clean and overdrive sounds while the neck position has a rounder, warmer tone that still maintains clarity and sounds great for clean jazzy stuff and thicker overdriven leads. The electronic layout is quite nice and very simple to use with its basic one volume, one tone and three way toggle switch making this guitar a straight forward workhorse. These earlier models had the Gretsch G tailpiece instead of the V shaped stop tailpiece and, in my opinion, this version retains a little more of that classic vibe that Gretsch guitars are known and loved for. This instrument is housed in a very nice Gretsch branded hard shell case that fits it like a glove. If you are after an Electromatic Series Jet, then this one is probably the one. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
