Very good condition featuring 40 watts of power, two 12 inch original Jensen speakers, two 6L6 power tubes and four 12AX7 preamp tubes, Guitar, Accordion and Bass inputs, two channels, built in tremolo with adjustable speed and intensity, standard Gretsch Tolex covering with white piping, silver grill cloth, chrome and black face plate with white lettering, enlarged aluminum stereo knobs, rubberized black handle on the side and serial number on silver sticker on the back panel.
This 1966 Gretsch Dual Bass amplifier is in overall very good vintage cosmetic condition showing some snags, tears and overall play wear throughout (see photos), but, in my opinion, looks just right. The silver grill cloth looks very similar to tinsel from a 1950s Christmas party. This amp has recently been serviced by one of Nashville’s finest amp technicians and sounds absolutely fantastic. Everything is working perfectly including the tremolo. Plugged into the “Guitar” input with the volume half way up, this amp is nasty sounding (in the best way) and is capable of nailing those early rock and roll tones and really comes close to some of those early ZZ Top sounds! The tremolo sounds very good and is foot switchable (the foot switch is missing, but the amp will work with any 1/4 switch). This amp has the original Jensen speakers that date to the 32nd week of 1966. All pots and transformers are also original. This amp recently had a cap job and a new 3 prong power cable installed for safe operation. If you are looking for an awesome sounding vintage amp for stage or studio, then I highly recommend this one!
