Very good condition featuring single cutaway laminate maple body with single bound top and back edges, large single ply plastic treble side pickguard, two DeArmond pickups, two volume controls and two tone controls with brown cupcake knobs, three-way selector switch with Daka-ware top hat switch tip, short trapeze tailpiece, adjustable bridge with two thumb wheels and wooden base, bolt on maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, black Silvertone peghead with unusual Silvertone applied plastic sign post logo, three on a plate per side open back tuning machines with white oval plastic buttons, two plastic strap buttons and sunburst finish.

This 1961 Silvertone is in very good cosmetic condition showing signs of play wear throughout including neck wear, scratches, dings, pick wear and a spot of wear from someone resting their pinky in front of the bridge pickup (see photos). This guitar has black plexi-plastic armrest with white stars. It was cut perfectly and has old domed topped flathead screws fastening it to the body (the same type used on the pickguard). I think this modification was done a very long time ago and it really adds to the vibe, aesthetic and overall coolness of the guitar. This Stratotone also has a very unusual peghead logo that I haven’t seen before. It looks like the logo they used on Silvertone amplifiers but it has gold “sign post” beneath. Kind of reminds me of a spaceship! The electronics and pickups are all original and has a pot code that dates to the 14th week of 1961. The pickups sound pretty great and have a strong clear output, perfect for all kinds of lo-fi tones! This guitar has definitely been played a lot and has some fret wear but it plays great and is a blast to sit and pick! There is a slight buzz from the low E string when played open but this could probably be remedied with a new nut if desired. This is by far the coolest Stratotone that has made its way to our shop in quite a while! A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door
