1998 Fender American Standard Stratocaster Hardtail Sunburst

Excellent condition featuring double cutaway contoured alder body with three tone sunburst finish, three single coil Stratocaster pickups with parchment white plastic pickup covers, one volume control and two tone controls with parchment white plastic skirted knobs, five way pickup selector switch with white plastic tip, oval pointed output jack plate mounted to the top treble side of the body, multi-ply tortoiseshell grain pickguard with beveled edges, bolt on maple neck with walnut skunkstripe, rosewood fingerboard with white dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, small Stratocaster peghead shape, Fender spaghetti logo, Stratocaster logo and Made in USA printed on the peghead face, two metal string trees, six in a line sealed Fender stamped tuning machines, serial number printed on the back of the peghead, four bolt neck fastening plate with Fender and Corona, California engravings, string through body construction with six individual metal string ferrules, two metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware and brown reissue Fender hard shell case. This guitar weighs 7lb 2oz. 

This 1998 Fender American Standard Stratocaster is in excellent but as close to near mint condition as any 24 year old guitar I’ve ever seen. This instrument shows virtually no signs of play wear throughout and is particularly tidy. The neck profile on this guitar is that of very nice modern C shape and feels very comfortable in the hand. The fret wire shows almost no signs of wear and the frets have a lifetime of use left in them. This guitar has been professionally set up and plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low action and great intonation. The pickups in this Stratocaster sound great in every position and deliver articulate bell like tones and thanks to the string through body construction, this guitar has quite a bit more sustain, tuning stability and just an overall solid feel. This guitar is housed in a 59-62 reissue hard shell Fender case that is extremely nice. These 90s hardtail American Standard Stratocasters are excellent instruments and you don’t see them for sale very often. Here’s a good chance to own an extremely tidy, great playing and sounding example.
