Excellent condition featuring offset poplar body with Sonic Blue finish, multi-ply tortoiseshell grain pickguard, maple C shape neck with gloss polyurethane finish, Indian Laurel fingerboard with white dot inlays and narrow tall frets, enlarged maple Fender style peghead with vintage gold Squier by Fender logo and black Mustang logo, six in a line vintage style tuners, two Fender designed Alnico single coil pickups, one volume control and one tone control with black knobs on elongated metal plate, on/off slider and in/out phase switch for each pickup, floating bridge with dynamic vibrato tailpiece, nickel plated metal hardware, and two metal strap buttons.
This awesome short scale Fender Mustang plays fantastic and really captures the vibe of the 1960s surf machine. The on/off selector switch for each pickup is very useful and can be used to create a mix of different Fender tones. The neck profile is very slim and comfortable. The Fender dynamic vibrato tremolo system works very well, but please note that the tremolo bar is missing. The serial number of this guitar has been stickered over and there is a faint USED stamp on the back of the headstock. The only visible repair is a very small finish repair in the neck pocket (see photos). The guitar is otherwise cosmetically flawless and plays very well.
