Excellent condition featuring double cutaway contoured alder body with Golden Mesa finish, multi-ply white pickguard, three 635JM single coil pickups, one volume control and two tone controls with white skirted knobs, five way pickup selector switch, PRS steel tremolo, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with small bird inlays, bone nut, Silver Sky peghead shape with Paul Reed Smith signature logo, flush truss rod cover, offset three per side PRS vintage style locking tuning machines, four bolt neck fastening plate with Silver Sky, John Mayer Model and John Mayer facsimile signature, no tremolo cavity cover plate (and no holes), nickel plated metal hardware, and original padded PRS gig bag.
This 2019 PRS Silver Sky is in excellent condition. This instrument is very clean and has no scratches or dings. The numbers have faded off of the volume knob from use (see photos), but the guitar otherwise looks cosmetically new. This guitar features the 635JM neck profile that is very nice feeling, rounded and on the chunky side. This neck is incredibly easy and comfortable to play. The frets on this guitar show only slight wear (see photos) and have a lifetime of playing left in them. This instrument has been professionally set up and it plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low action and great intonation. The PRS steel tremolo unit is exceptional. It operates very smoothly and the tuning stability is rock solid, thanks in part to the vintage style PRS locking tuning machines. Plus these tuners make string changes quick and easy!
This PRS is very lightweight and resonant. The guitar is loud unplugged and vibrates against your body when strummed. Plugged in, this Silver Sky really shines. The PRS 635JM single coil pickups have superb clarity. These pickups sound righteous in every position. They are very articulate yet still retain a wonderfully woody tone with snappy highs and very nice rounded bottom end. This guitar sounds absolutely fantastic through a clean or dirty amplifier. This guitar is housed in a heavy duty PRS branded gig bag for safe travels. The paperwork and trem arm are also included.
