This 2019 Martin D-35 is in excellent cosmetic and playing condition. The low profile neck feels nice and comfortable in hand. The action is low and set up flawlessly offering maximum playability. The sound is fantastic and the guitar has great bass articulation. It's got a great sound for flatpicking or rhythm playing. The aging toner on the top is extremely attractive and looks great paired with the tortoiseshell grain pickguard. The bound ebony fingerboard puts it over the top in the aesthetics department. The East Indian rosewood back and sides are of the dark variety and have nice grain.
Martin D-35s are known for their powerful sound, volume and low end and this guitar is no exception. An LR Baggs pickup has been professionally installed with volume and tone controls inside the soundhole (see photos) and the guitar sounds great plugged in. If you're looking for a terrific sounding bluegrass flatpicking instrument with plenty of volume, a singer songwriter guitar that can be plugged in, or just a really good living room companion, this D-35 checks all the boxes. A lot of these guitars brand new from the factory are a little tight sounding but this one has been played a bit and has opened up. The guitar shows no signs of wear and is ready for a brand new home.
