Excellent condition featuring double cutaway flamed maple laminated body with multi-bound top edge and single bound back edges, bound oversize F holes, two blacktop Filter'Tron humbucking pickups with clear gold plexi pickup surrounds, two volume controls, one tone control and one master volume control with knurled flat top knobs with G and arrow engravings, elongated elevated gold plexi pickguard with steel mounting bracket, three-way pickup selector switch with knurled metal switch tip, black enameled Bigsby tailpiece, wooden bridge base with fully adjustable tune-o-matic style saddle, maple neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid hump top inlays starting at the first fret, plastic nut, Gretsch peghead shape, black peghead face with pearloid Gretsch logo and Electromatic logo, multi-ply black and white pointed truss rod cover, three per side open back engraved tuning machines, serial number and Made in Korea printed on the back of the peghead, two metal strap buttons, gold plated metal hardware and molded black SKB hard shell case.
This Gretsch Electromatic limited run G5422TDC is in overall excellent cosmetic condition showing hardly any signs of play wear throughout. The neck profile is a thinner C shape and is extremely comfortable in hand. The frets show very minimal signs of use and have a lifetime playing left in them. This Gretsch has been professionally set up and plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard. The Gretsch blacktop Filter'Tron humbucking pickups sound fantastic and ring like a bell with a clean or overdriven amplifier. This guitar is perfectly suitable for picking anything from rockabilly to jazz to heavy rock. The black enameled Bigsby tailpiece operates smoothly and really adds to the overall inspiring feel of this instrument. The flamed maple natural finish looks stunning especially paired with the hump top inlays.
