2013 Gibson Les Paul Government Series II Government Tan

Excellent condition featuring single cutaway weight relieved mahogany body, maple top, two Dirty Fingers+ exposed coil humbucking pickups, two volume controls and two tone controls with black speed knobs, three way pickup selector switch with black tip, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays starting at the third fret, black peghead face with silkscreened Gibson and Les Paul Model logos, single ply black bell shaped truss rod cover, 1 11/16" nut width, Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, serial number and Made in USA impressed into the back of the peghead, two metal strap buttons, Government Tan finish, black chrome metal hardware, black plastic electronics cavity control cover plate and switch cover plate, and original black Gibson hard shell case with Government Series II COA and original paperwork. This guitar weighs 8lb 9oz.

This 2013 Gibson Les Paul is in excellent cosmetic condition showing few signs of play wear throughout. There is one pinhead size ding in the Government Tan finish on the back edge of the body close to the electronics cavity plate (see photos), but the guitar is otherwise very clean and tidy. This is one of the cleanest examples of this model we've come across in a good while. The guitar has been professionally set up and plays well up and down the rosewood fingerboard. The neck is a Studio 50s profile with a 1 11/16" nut width and is very comfortable in hand. The Dirty Fingers pickups have a very rounded cut and excel with an overdriven amplifier. These pickups sound fantastic and are as high output as one would expect. These exposed coil pickups have adjustable pole pieces for string-to-string output control and are a faithful recreation of the original Gibson pickups that inspired them.

This is a very interesting model with a very memorable backstory. The Certificate of Authenticity signed by former Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz is included and guarantees the fingerboard on this guitar is one of the rosewood pieces confiscated (and later returned) by USFWS during the 2011 raid at the Gibson factory. If you're after a unique and reasonably lightweight Les Paul or an interesting piece of Gibson history, this Government Tan beauty could be the one for you.
