This 2005 Gibson Les Paul 1960 reissue is in excellent cosmetic condition and shows only minor play wear throughout and just a few very tiny dings (see photos). The neck profile is that of a smaller 1960 carve but is chunkier than most of the Les Paul R0s that I've played in the past. It is extremely comfortable in hand and has nice rounded shoulders that feel incredible. The frets show some very slight signs of play wear but nothing major and have tons of life left in them. The rosewood fretboard is of the darker variety and looks superb. The tuners are a replacement set of aged nickel Grover Rotomatics. These really look great and keep this guitar's tuning rock solid. The pickups are a set of Wizz Premium Clone PAF replicas with double white bobbins. These pickups sound astonishing in this instrument and are, in my opinion, a major upgrade from the original pickups as they deliver the articulate, woody and biting tones associated with the golden era of Gibson manufacturing.
This Les Paul has a monster top. It is beautifully figured and has a very distinct “chevron” grain pattern that is among one of the finest I’ve seen. Everything from the color to the grain is visually pleasing. This is a very special Lester and these examples don’t pop up for sale very often. If you're after a killer Reissue series Les Paul, this one, in my opinion, is one of the finest on the market. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
