Excellent condition featuring double cutaway solid walnut body, neck through body construction, Eastern Hard Rock maple neck, maple fingerboard with small black dot inlays starting at the third fret, 1 3/4" nut width, walnut headstock wings, large black truss rod cover with metallic Rickenbacker logo and Made in USA, three per side sealed Schaller tuning machines with small buttons, two humbucking pickups, two volume controls and two tone controls with chrome knobs and three position pickup selector switch mounted onto chrome pickguard, Rickenbacker top loading bridge with six individual adjustable roller saddles, chrome plated metal hardware, two metal strap buttons, and original rectangular black molded plastic hard shell case. This guitar weighs 7lb 3oz.
This Rickenbacker 650D barely has a scratch on it and the hand-rubbed oil finish has definitely helped this guitar stay super clean over the years. It's in virtually unplayed condition. The frets show minimal signs of play wear and have loads of life left. The neck is a bit chunkier and wider than many Rickenbacker neck profiles and feels very comfortable in hand. The two humbucking pickups sound fantastic and the Combi tailpiece and Schaller tuning machines keep this guitar in rock solid tune.
Rickenbacker's solid body guitars have always seemed to be a bit under appreciated which is a shame because they tend to be exceptionally fun to play. This particular model is a very high quality American made (and grown!) guitar with a unique look and practical features. The 650D Dakota Walnut model is no longer being produced by Rickenbacker.
