Very good condition featuring double cutaway contoured body with transparent teal finish, multi-ply black and white pickguard, three single coil Stratocaster pickups with parchment white covers, one volume control and two tone controls with parchment white skirted knobs with gold lettering, five way pickup selector switch with parchment white tip, vintage style six point tremolo tailpiece/bridge with six individual fully adjustable Fender stamped bent steel saddles, maple neck with walnut skunkstripe, maple fingerboard with black dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, small maple Fender Stratocaster peghead, Fender spaghetti logo, Stratocaster logo and Made in USA printed on the peghead, six in a line Fender stamped sealed chrome tuning machines, serial number printed on the back of the peghead, four bolt neck fastening plate, single ply tremolo cavity cover plate, two metal strap buttons and hard shell case. This guitar weighs 7lb 4oz.
This 2002 Highway One Series Stratocaster is in very good cosmetic condition showing some scratches in the finish on the top and back of the instrument (see photos). These guitars were shot with a very very thin nitrocellulose lacquer (or "thin skin" as Fender called it) and were made to age and relic with time. The neck and fretboard are in excellent condition. The frets show almost no signs of play wear and the guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard. The pickups sound great and deliver smooth bell like Stratocaster sounds. They are very balanced together and sound very good independently. The thin clear protective plastic has not been peeled off the pickguard and the Fender sticker is still on the tremolo cover plate. These Highway One instruments are no longer being produced and were a fantastic offering from the Fender guitar company when they were in production. This finish option is very rarely seen and is very unique. This is a great sounding and playing American made Fender Stratocaster that is suitable for stage, home and studio use.
