This 1983 Smith Era Stratocaster is in excellent vintage cosmetic condition showing some signs of play wear throughout including some pick scratches and small dings around the body edges, but this guitar is overall very tidy. The guitar has been professionally set up by Glaser Instruments in Nashville, Tennessee, and plays well with medium action, but the neck has a twist at the 7th fret on the treble side. The only way to correct this would be to refret and replane the fingerboard, but we will leave whether or not to do this work up to the next owner. Wonky necks like this are very common on Fender instruments from this era. The neck profile on this Stratocaster is that of a thin, almost V shape and feels comfortable and fast in the hand. The fret wire shows slight signs of use but has many years of life left. The original pickups sound great in every position and have a very nice articulate bell like chime and sound very good clean or overdriven. These Dan Smith era instruments are unique and collectible. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
