Good condition featuring double cutaway solid ash body with transparent red finish, multi-ply black/white/black pickguard, Fender humbucking pickup and black pickup surround in the bridge position, one volume and one tone control with black and white Fender knobs, two toggle switches and input jack mounted directly to the pickguard, string through body construction, Fender fully adjustable chrome bridge with six steel block saddles, maple neck with walnut backstripe, maple fingerboard with black dot inlays starting at the third fret, Fender F stamped chrome six in a line tuning machines, two butterfly string trees, Fender and Lead I headstock logos with serial number and Made in USA, adjustable truss rod at the butt of the neck, bone nut, and F stamped four bolt neck fastening plate. This 1981 Fender Lead I has been played extensively and shows wear on the fingerboard and on the forearm and bottom part of the body. This guitar is an amazing player and has a super cool vibe. Very unique tones from the Fender humbucking pickup and feels rock solid because of the string through construction. The original frets have been dressed and still have a lot of life left in them. This model has been reissued by Fender and these are now made in Mexico. Don't miss out on the chance to own the original American made Lead I.
