This 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom plays like a dream with very smooth and buttery action. The neck profile is a comfortable slim shape and the fingerboard has been professionally refretted with jumbo frets. The guitar features two Dunable Direwolf pickups that sound monstrous. These are handmade pickups which are Dunable's take on a hot-rodded classic humbucking pickup. These pickups are suitable for any form of rock, metal, and doom. The potentiometers on this guitar date to the 8th week of 1979 and are original along with the capacitors. The volume and tone control knobs have been changed to black Gibson reflector top knobs. The hardware has been changed to a mix of nickel and chrome (this guitar originally came from the factory with gold hardware). This Les Paul shows moderate play wear on the neck and body with a few sections of finish missing on the edges of the neck and a 2" gouge in the finish on the back of the body (see photos). The finish has lacquer checking and scratches which are particularly visible in the light including swirl marks on the back of the guitar.
The cool factor is all the way up on this guitar. A black Les Paul Custom is just plain hard to beat. This guitar is ready for at least another 41 years of service.
