Excellent condition featuring single cutaway ash body with natural finish, multi-ply white and black pickguard, two single coil Telecaster pickups, one volume control and one tone control, three way pickup selector switch mounted to elongated chrome metal electronics control plate, Fender Telecaster ashtray bridge with three adjustable brass saddles, maple neck with walnut skunk stripe, maple fingerboard with black dot inlays starting at the third fret, maple Telecaster peghead with Fender and Telecaster logos and patent numbers, two butterfly string trees, six in a line F stamped chrome metal tuning machines, four bolt neck fastening plate with F stamp and serial number engravings, string through body construction with six metal string ferrules, two metal strap buttons, and original hard shell case.
This 46 year old Fender Telecaster is in excellent cosmetic condition showing just a few finish checks here and there (see photos) and some minor playing wear throughout. The neck has a small but chunky profile that's extremely comfortable. The original frets have been dressed but are still extremely playable and have lots of life left. This Tele is set up in good playing condition and sounds great through an amp. The neck position pickup was made by Seymour Duncan. The bridge position pickup is of unknown origin but sounds great (This pickup rips through a Marshall). Both pots and the selector switch are original. The pot code 3047349 dates to the 49th week of 1973.
The bridge is a later replacement stamped Fender Pat Pending with brass saddles. The dome top volume and tone knobs are later replacements. The case for this guitar is original but is in rough condition. It's still a perfectly suitable way to store and carry the guitar. The black plastic nut is a later replacement. The D&G string tree is a replacement and has been moved slightly from the original position (see photos). Although these changes have been made, this is a fantastic vintage Fender Telecaster that can be had at a very reasonable price. This guitar is ready for stage, studio or your living room. It weighs in at 8lbs 9oz which is pretty reasonable for this era. If you're looking for a vintage Telecaster that you can make your own at an affordable price, don't look past this one.
