1971 Electra 2246 Lucite Dan Armstrong

Very good condition featuring double cutaway contoured Lucite body, interchangeable single coil pickup, one volume control and one tone control with knurled aluminum stereo knobs, three-way pickup selector switch, wood grain aluminum pickguard, string through body construction with plate bridge and six individual adjustable block saddles, bolt on maple neck with walnut skunkstripe, rosewood fingerboard with small pearl dot inlays starting at the third fret, brass nut, rosewood peghead overlay with pearl Electra logo, wood grain and aluminum truss rod cover plate, three per side unmarked tuning machines with steel oval buttons, metal plate with stock number and serial number on the back of the peghead, three metal strap buttons and original hard shell case. This guitar weighs 9lb 7oz.

This 1971 Electra model 2246 is in very good cosmetic condition showing a few signs of play wear throughout (see photos). The neck profile is wide and flat but still has a little bit of chunkiness and feels very comfortable in hand. The original frets show some signs of play wear but nothing serious and have lots of life left in them. This guitar plays well up and down the fingerboard with low action. The single coil pickup (the only one included) sounds pretty great and is perfect for rock and does a good job with some clean Telecaster style sounds as well. All the electronics in this Electra are original and haven’t been tampered with.

These early Electra instruments are very cool and quite collectable. This model is extremely rare and is only the second one I’ve seen in person. The original case has some pretty sweet paintings on the lid (see photos) but two of the latches are not working properly. We just recently sold a 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong and this one is pretty dang close to the original! This Japanese guitar is as well made as they come and is clearly awesome!!! A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
