Good condition featuring double cutaway laminated mahogany body, two f-holes, multi-bound top and back edges, two Guild humbucking pickups, black Guild cascading pickguard with Guild logo and metal bracket, two volume and two tone controls with Guild knobs, three way toggle switch, Guild harp tailpiece with adjustable rosewood bridge and bridge base, mahogany neck with maple backstripe, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Guild and three line Chesterfield pearl peghead inlays, truss rod cover with silver shield logo, cherry red finish, and original hard shell case.
The tuning machines have been replaced with Grover Mini-Rotomatic tuners which keep this guitar in tune very well. There are holes from the previous tuning machines. There does not appear to be any breaks or cracks, but the back of the peghead has been sanded for an unknown reason. The serial number is intact (see photos). There is belt buckle wear on the back of the guitar and lacquer checking throughout. The neck has been played extensively and shows wear. There is some lacquer peel at the heel (see photos).
This instrument has been owned and played by a Nashville studio musician for many years and is in absolutely tip top playing order. It's actually one of the best electric 12-strings I've ever played. The Guild Starfire series guitars are excellent utility tools and quite collectible. If you're looking for a 12-string electric vintage guitar with great hollow body tone, this is the one.
