Very good condition featuring single cutaway body, multi-ply top binding and single ply back binding on the body edges, elongated white plastic electronics control plate, three way selector switch for Treble, Blender, and Bass, two volume controls, two tone controls, and one blender control with small black plastic knobs, two silver foil single coil pickups with chrome pickup surrounds, adjustable rosewood base bridge with wooden top, short trapeze tailpiece, maple neck, multiple bound rosewood fingerboard with small pearloid block inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, enlarged Silvertone sparkle black peghead with applied Silvertone logo, single ply white plastic pointed truss rod cover, original three per side open back rope engraved tuners with white plastic buttons, three bolt neck fastening system, nickel plated metal hardware, black sparkle finish, and two plastic strap buttons.

This 1961 Silvertone 1423 is in very good cosmetic condition and playing order. The electronics in this guitar are all original, function properly and the pot codes date to the 10th week of 1961. The silver foil pickups sound super cool and give this guitar an excellent lo-fi classic sound. The frets show signs of use and wear but still have plenty of life left in them. The action is set up low and plays well up and down the fretboard. The original tuners work great. There is one spot on the back of the guitar that has been colored in with black marker (see photos). These Silvertone guitars are getting tricky to find in good playing order and this one is all there. If you're looking for a nostalgic guitar or are aiming to start a garage rock band, this Silvertone can get the job done well.
