This 1959 Martin 0-15 (serial number 170631) is in very good to excellent cosmetic condition. This instrument shows signs of play wear and age throughout including a chip on the right corner of the peghead, some small dings around the body edges, some pick scratches on the pickguard and some scratches on the treble side rim of the body (see photos). Otherwise, this little Martin guitar is remarkably clean, tidy and vibrant. This guitar is extremely structurally sound - The top is dead flat, the bridge has no lift, all the braces are tight, the neck angle is excellent, the saddle is medium height and there are no cracks or crack repairs. This Martin guitar has a great feeling medium sized, soft V shaped neck profile with a 1 11/16” nut width that is very comfortable and easy to play. The fret wire on this instrument is in excellent condition, shows very little signs of play wear and has tons of life left. This guitar has been professionally set it up and it plays absolutely outstanding up and down the Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with low smooth action and very good intonation. I believe it would be hard to find another one of these models that plays any better than this example - it is superb and a joy to sit and pick. The original tuners are working great and are not bent. The original white endpin is present and this guitar has never had a strap button installed at the neck heel. This 0-15 has a wonderfully balanced, articulate yet dry tone with plenty of volume. This is a perfect guitar for fingerstyle playing and great with a flat pick as well. This instrument would work exceptionally well for recording and would make a tremendous songwriting companion. If you are looking for an all around excellent vintage flattop, this 64 year old Martin 0-15 is ready to go and will not disappoint! This instrument will ship with a gig bag.
