1935 Gibson A-75 Mandolin Rare w/ Original Case
Very good condition featuring symmetrical A style body, carved spruce top with two f-holes, mahogany back and sides, single white binding on the top and back body edges, bound ebony fingerboard with elevated fingerboard extension and pearl dot inlays starting at the third fret, Gibson logo and two-handled vase pearl inlays on the peghead, original four on a plate open back tuning machines with white plastic buttons, single ply bell shaped truss rod cover, ebony bridge, The Gibson engraving on the tailpiece cover, nickel plated hardware, brown mahogany sunburst finish, and original soft case.
This particular A-75 needs nothing and is ready to go right out of the case. The fingerboard has been expertly made and installed by Randy Wood and features an extended treble side fretboard extension. The original fingerboard - which is included - has a square extension. There are plugged holes in the top and on the side from the original pickguard (not included). There are signs of playing wear and light buckle wear on the back as well as finish checks throughout, but overall this instrument is in very good cosmetic condition. The set up is superb and it is an exceptionally fine sounding mandolin with great bark and chop. I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised by the sound of this mandolin. This is a very rare model that Gibson only produced from 1934-1937. These do not come up for sale often, especially in outstanding playing condition.
