1929 Epiphone Recording Model Style D Sunburst
This 1929 Epiphone Recording Model is in good vintage condition. This guitar shows signs of age and play wear throughout and has seen some repair work and modifications throughout its 97 years of life. The peghead has been trimmed down on the sides giving it a different shape and the sides of the peghead were touched up with finish. The old tuner holes were plugged and a set of nickel plated Grover tuners have been installed. The fingerboard has been replaced with a vintage Epiphone fingerboard. There has been some finish touch up on the body and the bridge has been reglued. The fingerboard has been professionally refretted and a new bone nut has been cut for it and installed along with a pro set up so this guitar plays absolutely fantastic up and down the fingerboard with low action and great intonation. This Epiphone has a very chunky V shaped neck profile that really feels great in the hand and is very player friendly. This instrument sounds tremendous and has a very warm, dry yet articulate and poignant tone that lands somewhere between an archtop and a flattop with plenty of volume and projection. This is an extremely inspiring instrument to play and is a great example for someone looking for a unique player grade piece that is ready to play right out of the case. These Recording models were only produced from 1928-1931 and great playing affordable examples don’t come up for sale too often. This instrument is housed in an older hardshell case and will ship out promptly and securely from our little shop here in Tennessee to your front door!
