1957 Gibson ES-125T 3/4

Very good condition featuring 13 inch wide and 1 7/8 inch thick laminated hollow body with walnut stain back and rim finish, laminated maple top with sunburst finish, bound top and back body edges, two F holes, one “dog ear” P-90 pickup with black plastic cover and adjustable pole pieces, one volume control and one tone control with one gold bonnet knob and one gold reflector top knob, short nickel plated trapeze tailpiece, wooden bridge with wooden bridge base and two height adjusting thumb wheels, elongated tortoiseshell grain pickguard with metal mounting bracket, set 22 7/8 inch scale mahogany neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays starting at the 3rd fret, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead shape with black peghead face and gold Gibson logo, single ply black plastic bell shaped trull rod cover, three per side on a plate Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines with small white plastic oval shaped tuning buttons, one metal strap button at neck heel and one white plastic end pin strap button. Overall length is 36 5/8 in.

This 1957 Gibson ES-125T 3/4 is in overall very good cosmetic condition, I would have described it as excellent condition if it weren’t for a 1 inch chip on the back corner of the peghead (see photos). This instrument shows signs of play wear and moderate lacquer checking throughout. The volume knob is a replacement reflector top from the 1960s. The white plastic oval tuning buttons are replacements but the tuning machines are original (it is very common for the original buttons to shrink and break over time). A metal strap button has been added to the middle of the neck heel (see photos). This instrument is otherwise in fully original condition. The neck profile on this 3/4 size guitar is that of a round chunky carve with a 1 5/8 inch nut width. This neck is super comfortable feeling in hand. The original frets show some use but have plenty of life left. This little guitar plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with low, comfortable action. This ES-125T is an absolute blast to play and is very nice to sit with because of its compact size. The original dog ear P-90 pickup in this little guitar sounds absolutely fantastic and is very dynamic. This guitar excels with clean or dirty tones and can get downright nasty through a small cranked tube amplifier. Perfect for anything clean and jazzy to dirty and roots based. These ES-125T 3/4 Gibson guitars are cool, fun to play, sound great and are quite collectable. A true gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
