Excellent condition featuring single cutaway full-depth hollowbody, two oversize f-holes, spruce top, laminated maple back and sides, white binding on the top and back body edges, one DeArmond Dynasonic neck pickup, Gretsch trapeze tailpiece, one volume and one tone control with early style clear plastic knobs, maple neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays starting at the third fret, black plastic headstock overlay with engraved Gretsch and Electromatic logos, original open back "rope" style tuners with plastic buttons, original plastic end pin strap button, sunburst finish, and original tweed and leather Gretsch hard shell case.

The tune-o-matic Gibson style bridge on a wooden base is a modern replacement. This is a fine playing and sounding first batch 1953 Gretsch Electromatic hollow body arch top that later became the Streamliner. This instrument is set up impeccably with flat wound strings and sounds dynamite. The DeArmond Dynasonic pickup sounds fantastic. The top, back, back of the neck, and sides are all sunburst finish and the sides of the guitar are particularly curly. There is some lacquer checking throughout, but no major dings or chips and the binding is in good shape. This example is amongst the cleanest that we have seen. The original case is as clean and nice as the guitar.
