Excellent condition featuring single cutaway contoured mahogany body, multiple bound mahogany top, two reverse mounted “Anti Hum” Hagstrom humbucking pickups with black plastic pickup surrounds, two volume controls and tone controls with black plastic skirted knobs, three way pickup selector switch and three way tone selector switch with knurled metal switch tips, Hagstrom tailpiece and fully adjustable bridge, multi-ply black and white plastic elevated pickguard with metal mounting bracket, bolt on mahogany neck, bound ebony fingerboard with pearloid block inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, pearloid bound Hagstrom peghead shape with pearloid Hagstrom logo and decorative inlay, three per side individual Hagstrom tuning machines with stair step tuning buttons, single ply black plastic neck plate, electronics cavity control and switch cavity cover plates, two metal strap buttons, chrome plated metal hardware, natural finish and original black hard shell case with blue plush interior. This guitar weighs 8lb 8oz.
The 1975 Hagstrom Swede is in excellent vintage cosmetic condition showing some light signs of play wear and a few small dings on the body. A small corner of the binding on the bottom of the fingerboard extension has come loose (see photos). This is among the cleanest examples of this model that we have encountered in some time. This Swede is fully original. There are no replacement or aftermarket parts. The neck profile on this Hagstrom is that of a medium chunky, very comfortable “C” shaped carve with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck feels great and is easy to play. The frets on this instrument show only light signs of play wear, have no indentations and have another lifetime of playing left in them. This guitar plays great up and down the fingerboard. The Hagstrom humbuckers both sound excellent. All the electronics work perfectly and there is no excess noise or static. The bridge pickup is perfect for big rock sounds and really sounds exceptional for overdriven tones while the neck pickup sounds fantastic for nice clean, jazzy stuff and thick overdriven lead sounds. This guitar is housed in its original hard shell case that is also very tidy with all the latches working. Original Swedish made Hagstrom Swedes are particularly cool, great playing and sounding instruments that you just don’t see everyday.
