1981 Takamine F363 Dreadnought

Excellent condition featuring dreadnought size and body shape, laminate rosewood back and sides with decorative backstripe, solid Sitka spruce top, multiple bound top and back edges, decorative soundhole rosette, black pickguard, rosewood bridge with split bone saddle, white plastic bridge pins with black dot centers, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays starting at the fifth fret, bone nut, post lawsuit era peghead shape, rosewood peghead overlay with gold Takamine logo, three per side chrome enclosed tuning machines with kidney bean buttons, bound heel cap and original Takamine hardshell case with plush lining.

This 1981 Takamine F363 is in overall excellent vintage cosmetic condition showing extremely light play wear throughout and a few dings that have been photographed. The neck profile on this instrument is a chunky C shape with a 1 11/16" nut width and feels extremely comfortable in hand. The original medium jumbo frets are in great shape and have loads of life left in them. This guitar plays very good up and down the fingerboard. The neck is very straight and the angle appears to be very good. The top of this guitar is very flat and doesn’t show any sinkage at the soundhole. This instrument currently has a medium saddle height and could be lowered if desired - the truss rod is fully functional. This Takamine appears to have had a soundhole pickup installed at some point and the endpin hole has been reamed out to accommodate for the jack (see photos).

These Made in Japan Takamine guitars of the 1980s are extremely well built and this example sounds terrific with a balanced, articulate tone and plenty of volume. This would make a fine instrument for stage or home use or a perfect songwriting companion. A terrific combination of vibe and functionality from this 40 year old flat top. A gem of a guitar shipped out safely and promptly from our little shop here in Clarksville, Tennessee, to your front door.
