From the manufacturer: "IronFist is a compressor/sustainer with a built-in noise gate. It works by making loud notes quieter (compression), and quiet notes louder (sustain) without changing the original tone or adding any distortion. Additionally, the noise gate circuit eliminates any sounds that are quieter than the set threshold. This can be useful for reducing or eliminating the power grid hum, or hiss. It comes with true bypass. It can be used with both clean and overdriven sounds."
